Aluminium benefits vs Steel – 100% Functional

Why choose ALUMINIUM❓ BUSBAR DUCTS

Its many FUNCTIONS make it one of the most used metals ever… Analyzing the main ones in this fourth episode, today we conclude our column on the advantages deriving from aluminium in the field of busbars!

We refer to:

DURABILITY: It is extremely resistant to weather conditions and chemicals, better than many other metals.

AESTHETICS: It is a clean material and its surface can be treated with a wide range of coatings. Its design is synonymous with modernity, so much so that it is also used by brands such as Apple and Audi.

✅ NON-TOXICITY: its salts are completely non-toxic.

IT DOES NOT GENERATE SPARKS: unlike ferrous metals, aluminum does not generate sparks when rubbed with other metals; for this reason it is preferred in the flammable and explosive sectors.

♻ RECYCLABILITY: easily recyclable, with low costs (Italy is in the lead in the aluminum recycling process!)

MACHINABILITY: it can be machined and shaped more easily than metals such as steel.

MECHANICAL RESISTANCE: aluminum alloys are very solid, offering a range of mechanical strengths up to 530 Newton/mm2, bringing impact resistance up to IK10.

Aluminium Benefits vs Steel – High thermal dissipation

Why choose ALUMINIUM❓ BUSBAR DUCTS

HIGH THERMAL DISSIPATION is what we are talking about today in this third episode of our column dedicated, like every hashtag
hashtagmartedì, to the advantages deriving from aluminium!

Aluminium has a high heat dissipation capacity, and it is essential as in certain systems heat is generated that will have to be managed, or they will go into excessive temperature causing potential damage…

In our busbars, the aluminium housing has such a resistance that up to 43 ° C ambient temperature there is no derating, i.e. no reduction in the output power due to overheating.

But that’s not all. We also chose aluminium for its high THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY: in fact, it conducts heat THREE TIMES MORE than steel, ensuring the SAFETY of electronic equipment in the event of a short circuit.

Aluminium Benefits vs Steel – Corrosion Resistance

Why choose ALUMINIUM❓ BUSBAR

CORROSION RESISTANCE is the theme of the second episode of this column, in which, like every hashtag
hashtagmartedì, we explain the many advantages of aluminium.

1️⃣ aluminium has an excellent resistance to corrosion, higher than steel (which has a shorter life cycle), and this is because aluminium protects itself: the presence of chromium, in fact, causes a very thin protective layer of oxide to form on its surface.
… while steel, which is easily prone to rust, needs an additional painting process to prevent corrosion.

2️⃣ our busbar ducts with an external aluminum casing have an EXCELLENT RESISTANCE-PRICE RATIO, as well as a longer life cycle: aluminum is in fact considered the cheapest metal that has a high resistance to corrosion.

3️⃣ In the presence of salty air, which is loaded with chlorides, metals such as steel are easily subject to corrosion, while aluminum, thanks to its resistance to rust, is almost completely immune to its corrosive effects.
